Sustainability Certificate Portfolios are public-facing websites that provide students with an opportunity to reflect on their learning through the Sustainability Certificate Program. Development of the portfolio encourages students to connect coursework, capstones, and experiences into a cohesive story that explores who they have become as sustainability practitioners and how they are prepared to apply their learning moving forward.
Initiated during the capstone course and completed during the final semester, the portfolio invites students to:
- Trace their growth from where they began to where they are now
- Reflect on how their thinking, decision-making, and sense of responsibility have evolved
- Integrate learning across the three spheres of sustainability
- Demonstrate their application of the Sustainability Competencies
- Articulate how their experiences have shaped their future goals and commitments
Portfolios are designed to showcase a student’s work and perspective to professional audiences, and include:
- A brief academic biography
- A synthesis essay connecting and reflecting on their full learning journey
- Reflections on each of the Sustainability Certificate courses, focusing on how each experience shaped understanding and approach
- A capstone reflection highlighting their ability to apply sustainability in practice
- Representative artifacts from their coursework and capstone

Your completed portfolio is due the last day of classes of your final semester at UGA.
