Our mission is to coordinate, communicate and advance sustainability initiatives at UGA in the areas of teaching, research, service & outreach, student engagement and campus operations. To achieve this mission, we offer two opportunities to help. The Sustainable UGA Support Fund advances sustainability initiatives at the University of Georgia. The Brittany Fox Watts Memorial Endowment provides support to students who have a demonstrated interest in sustainability and wish to pursue those interests through a UGA Study Abroad Program. If you have questions or particular topics of interest, please contact us.
Why Give to Sustainability at UGA?
"As a land-grant and sea-grant institution, the University of Georgia is committed to the effective stewardship of our natural resources and to the advancement of campus sustainability. Nowhere is this commitment expressed more clearly than in the University of Georgia 2020 Strategic Plan, which outlines benchmarks and goals related to our efforts. The University community continues to make progress in this area of strategic importance.
Thank you for continuing to support UGA and for partnering with us to enhance campus sustainability."
Jere W. Morehead
President, University of Georgia
"Our mission statement makes it clear that a healthy environment is vital in our interdependent, global society. Our faculty, staff and students are committed to sustainability and the Office of Sustainability, established in 2010 based on a student-led effort and a recommendation from a campus-wide working group, has served as a catalyst for enhancing sustainability instruction, service and research at UGA.
Our entire campus is a living laboratory where sustainability is demonstrated and refined. As the state’s flagship university, we have a special responsibility to demonstrate sustainability in all that we do."
