The Three C’s : 

Our focus this semester is the three C’s: Cans (reducing waste), Clothes (slowing down fast fashion - encouraging clothing swaps and sales), and Community ( collaborative events, social events, and more)

Cans: 

You will be competing to turn the most items into the recycling facility. They will pay you for your cans! I will send out an instructional document on how to do this. The house to collect and recycle the most cans per capita will receive a prize. When you turn in your cans to the recycling facility, ask for a receipt, and submit it to me via google form. There will be an active leaderboard showing which houses have turned in the most cans. 

If you are a house that does not produce very much can waste, let me know and I can partner you with a house that does (there are a lot of frats that do not have sustainability coordinators and I am sure they would appreciate it if you collected their cans). Also, feel free to develop partnerships on your own. 

Clothes:

We want to slow down the fashion cycle and encourage shopping second hand. Do clothing swaps, sales, and more. Also, attend these events. Don’t forget to document the events you host and attend with pictures. 

Ideas: date night clothing swap, big little box swap, holiday swap, ect.

Community:

It is critical that we create spaces for students to learn about sustainability, and also the sustainability coordinators should know each other. Community events are intended to encourage connection, opportunity for growth/learning/fun, and engagement. Points will be rewarded to houses who both attend and host community events. Greek Goes Green will host some for you, but if you host your own, you can get double points.
